Our Comprehensive Editing Process includes all four editing phases as shown below. This editing service is recommended for manuscripts with a solid conceptual foundation that would benefit from more extensive structural, organizational, and developmental work. This edit provides recommendations for more substantial changes to improve the manuscript. Later stages of editing in this process provide more detailed assistance with the presentation of content as well as the writing mechanics.
Phase 1 - Sample Comprehensive Edit
Editor reviews entire manuscript and creates a ten to fifteen page sample edit, and provides the author with a brief overview of the recommended structural and developmental changes.
Author reviews sample edit to ensure the initial recommendations are consistent with his goals for the writing project.
Author returns the sample edit, including any additional information or instructions for the editor.
Author and editor hold a phone conference to discuss the focus of the edit with respect to the goals for the project.
Phase 2 - Comprehensive Editing
Based on the sample edit and the phone conference, the editor continues providing structural, organizational, and developmental recommendations throughout the manuscript and completes the Comprehensive Edit.
Author reviews the edited manuscript, and revises the manuscript based on the editor’s recommendations.
Author returns the revised manuscript.
